[ eddie cackles. he's up again, half springing on steve as he pushes them towards the space set aside for dancing. ]

Oh, baby, you're gonna learn tonight! [ he spins around, pointing towards billy. ] You too! After! Gotta show us how California does it!

Wait, what are we doing, whatarewedoing?

[ He's up and he's willing but he has no idea what's happening! This is exciting! Steve looks all around for the dancefloor and his eyes widen as he sees people ... uh, ]

Is that dancing? That looks so dangerous.

[Eddie gets a point right back and - is there a stool? Yes there is, just a second of grabbing, hauling a leg up before he shows exactly how California does it. It's all in the hair, all in the fingers over the imaginary strings. To some degree it is also all in the ass, the jean stretch over it is so important etc.

He gets lost in it a little, shifts from air guitar to drums, feels sweat pooling at his temples, feels his lips drying up with the movement. When he slicks his hair back, it's to see if Steve gets the hang of it, too see if his body can learn the thrashing.

He sits on the stool to catch his breath, somehow finds a way to sprawl there too, back against the column and his thighs parted wide. ] Come on Harrington, you gotta get your head in it.

[ billy's show nets a wild ear to ear smile. ]

[ but eddie will show him the ropes. how to feel the body with your music, how to let all your aggression out and feel the pure passion. it's easier to show than explain and he lets himself get lost in the beat, his dancing as frantic and wildly energetic as the rest of them ]

[ Jesus Christ, he's fought a monster made of the minced flesh of half his town and flambéd a dark wizard but he's never been so intimidated in his life. His mouth parts and he licks his lips, staring for the duration of Billy's lewd as hell show, then he swings his head to watch as Eddie hurls himself into a crowd that looks like it's trying to bash each other up. Steve's not sensual or tough, not with mindless ease like these two. He isn't the kind of guy to smash heads with in a mosh pit; kinda wishes Robin was around to bop around with, deep down.

But he likes what he sees in both directions. ]

[ Steve sways on the spot, resting a hand on the pillar. ]

His gaze moves lazily between Eddie going feral in the crowd and Steve, and then Steve sort of swaying and his grin drops embarrassingly fast because for a second it looks like Steve might do a little Lightweight Lie Down -]

Harrington, you good? [He's sitting up, brows furrowing, elbows on his thigh. ]

[ he's not drunk enough to miss that. but is drunk enough to nearly get his head taken off by an errant fist. eddie ducks and moves back closer to the table, reaching out to steady him. ]

Hey, hey, you need to hurl, babe?

[ Eyes wide as he isn't even a fraction as subtle as he thought (damn you, vodka and nondescript shots!) he nods to Billy and Eddie as they converge on him, grasping the front of Eddie's shirt for balance with one hand. ]

Yeah, yeah. Yeahyeahyeah. I'm good! Totally!

[ He needs to go have a bisexual crisis alone for a second. ]

... I need those cherries. Wait here!

[ Skidding on the spot as he tears off like the slippery bastard he can be, heading for the bar. ]

[Obviously he's watching Steve go, brows still furrowed as he watches the top of his stupid hair swim through the crowds thrashing. He turns to Eddie after, leaning back again, lifting one brow like Eddie Speaks Steve. ]

My guy, did he do a line before we left? Did you see him move?

[ he folds his arms, shifting his weight a little. ]

Yeah, not sure Harrington's gonna shove his pretty face into any powder anytime soon. [ but he can't help but feel a little abandoned. brow furrowing as he watches steve split, sucking on his tongue as he looks around the space.

overwhelmed, maybe? panicking about being hurt? ] ... Maybe we should get the hell out of here.

[ he glances back to billy. ]

Y'know. Go somewhere more his speed?

[ At the bar that stops Steve with the force of an ice rink rail were he on runaway skates, he gets asked what he wants and he says Whatever will knock me out, to which he gets a laugh and some raised brows. The drink put in front of him gets necked.

Jesus Christ. He rubs his face hard and sucks down a deep, steadying breath. ]

Get your shit together, Harrington.

[ He falls right on his ass as he backs away from the bar, landing with a wheezed Owww. Bonus? He's starting to stop caring about things again as alcohol hits his system. Holy shit, he needs Robin to straighten him out or get trashed with him and work out why he's so prickly about realising he likes men, plural, and not just one man, singular and metal.

Is he prickly? No. And that's very surprising.

I don't think they do Club Tropicana here, [but yeah, sure. He gets it. A lot of people, the bodies sort of merge into one after a while - Billy would understand that being disconcerting. So he gets up, runs his hands through his damp hair and turns and -

[To their own defence, Billy and Eddie probably move as fast as one another. Billy's just bigger and better at pushing through the crowds; knows exactly where to elbow. Eddie's scrawny enough to be fast. Still, there Steve is, on the ground and -

He does. Kind of want to laugh. Like a lot, but he doesn't, and isn't that so nice of him. ] Munson am I dreaming, or has Steve Harrington fallen at our feet?

[Yes he will help Eddie pick him up, no he will not let Steve live this down when he's sober. ] Atta boy. [Then, to Eddie:] You take one arm, I got the other? [And then, quieter, he mouths: home, like he thinks Steve might protest. ]

[ billy gets a nod. home. home sounds good. ]

Yeah, alright. Come on up, big boy.

[ He pulls him upright, bony and sharp and unwilling to let steve try to protest his way into another fall, looping one of steve's arms around his neck. ]

[ His head lolls as he goes from horizontal to vertical with very little help from his own limbs. Is he being propped up? Are they both ... ? Oh, okay. That's really nice of them. ]

Hargrove. Ooo, your hair smells goooood. Little bit like weed. Little bit.

[ Swinging a look at Eddie he smiles in relief, expression softening. ]

You're a great crazy dancer.

[Ah - he glances at Eddie, bites his lip and look, he tries to say with his eyes, I am trying not to laugh here. Look, except when he speaks there is a bit of a laugh there anyway. ]

[He is still glancing at Eddie, shakes his head and mouths what the fuck.]

[ jesus christ. eddie shifts a little, getting a better hold on steve. ]

Thanks, man. I'll teach you how keep up with me next time, okay?

[ eddie glances back to billy, giving his head a shake. ] Gonna need you to watch your feet for us, 'kay? One foot in front of the other here. [ and then back to billy, did someone spike his drink? ] That's right, man. Once we get you some fresh air I'll call us a cab.

[retromix]

No, no, no, I want to stay, or find a bench to lay down on. Hargrove's huge, he can spot a bench a mile away.

[ Boop. Steve pokes Billy on the cheek. Audible booping, even. ]

I want to summon something with my superpower, I'm gonna do it —

[Eddie gets a puzzled look, a mouthed I didn't see shit before there is a finger in his cheek and he blinks, a little slow and stupid before he chokes on a laugh. ]

No fucking way man. You're going to bed, you're fucking wasted - quit swerving around before we drop you on your ass.

[heatmetal]

Yeah, no, no summoning in the bar.

[ just focus on getting him on out the doors... don't be jealous of a boop. don't be jealous of a stupid drunken boop. come on, munson, chill the fuck out over here. ]

It's bed for you, sire. I don't need your inevitable alcohol poisoning on my conscience tonight.

Why are you both so nice to me?

[ The floor is so swirly, oh God, that final major drink is hitting his bloodstream. ]

Can we call Robin? I need Robin. [ He looks at Billy quizzically. ] D'you remember Robin Buckley? She's my best friend. [ Swerving his attention back to Eddie. ] I almost fell in love with her once but I wasn't ... paying attention.

I could summon Robin, you guys!

[He shifts his weight a little, pulls Steve's arm slightly taught to keep him from wriggling away again and then glances at Eddie, shakes his head. ]

It's gonna be a no from me on that one.

You know the answer to that one, dingus.

[ alright, out into the cool night air. Eddie tightens his grip and pulls his phone out of his pocket - pausing when steve suggests a truly horrible idea. ]

Yeah, uh, no. No, no, no, no, we are not gonna see what happens when you try to summon living things. Especially when you're smashed.

[retromix]

[ He looks so sad but heeds the sensible advice. The night air is so good, he sticks his tongue out to taste it. ]

Where are we even going? I had a secret extra drink at the bar, oops. You're right, I'm wasted. I'm so sorry.

[This is insanely stupid. Billy follows Steve's tongue, wets his own lips and looks almost fond. He's seen something new tonight; he's going to savour this, however dumb Steve looks.

Then Eddie's calling them a cab, and Billy looks at him, eyebrows lifted like can you believe I want to fuck this guy so bad while he's tasting the air and having secret drinks. Jesus christ. ]

I dunno man, I think it might've been the vodka coke's you drank like water.

[ ... oh. oh yeah, he is little jealous. no, wrong word. threatened? eddie's only ever done casual hookups before, this is... well, steve seemed like he wanted something else. he can do casual, if that's what he wants, but.

shoving those feelings down. he'll get fucked up and dwell on this a different day. ]

We're just switching venues. [ he manages a smile at billy that doesn't totally meet his eyes, but there's sympathy there. god he understands. then he's turning back to give the driver their location. ]

It's okay. [ he ruffles steve's hair fondly. ] Pace yourself next time, alright?
